This is the second volume (8 volumes in total) of Otomo's complete works "AKIRA", which includes episodes 15-28 (from p280 of Vol. 1 to p200 of Vol. 2 of the Young Magazine KC edition) of "AKIRA", created by Otomo Katsuhiro when he was 29 years old in 1983-1984 and serialised in Young Magazine when it was published twice a month, in the form they were originally published.

This volume also follows the format of the previous volume, and is published in the "serialised version" with everything, including the frontispiece, restored as much as possible to the way it was when it was serialised (※For details on the planning intention and editorial policy of Otomo's complete works version of "AKIRA", please refer to the content introduction of the previous volume, "AKIRA 1").

Of course, the precious colour frontispieces and main colour pages are also included in colour as they were when they were serialised.

In the Young Magazine KC version (6 volumes in total), each volume was divided into parts: "Tetsuo," "AKIRA," "AKIRA II," "Kei," "Kei II," and "Kaneda." Each volume was re-edited so that it could be read as a whole without any breaks. However, in the collected works version, each chapter (about 20 pages) is independent and arranged in the order of the chapters, just as it was when it was serialised in the magazine, so you can enjoy the story as a continuous story by story.

It's still interesting enough to read as it is, but if you compare it with the KC version, the meticulous structure of "AKIRA" and the ingenious story construction become even clearer, allowing you to enjoy the work even more deeply.
